As the President and Co-founder of the non-profit Friendly Paws Society, Harman is passionate about giving back to both people and animals. She is the creator of the Pawsitive Futures program, which fosters meaningful connections between at-risk youth and animals in need, helping them heal and grow together. This impactful initiative collaborates with organizations such as the Musqueam Indian Band, Cinderella Project, Covenant House Vancouver, and the Provincial Government's Ministry of Children and Family Development.
Harman also serves as the President of Canadian Eh? Pet Nutrition, a business dedicated to providing high-quality raw food, treats, and meal toppers for pets. This venture operates in partnership with Indigenous fishermen and hunters, promoting local and sustainable practices.
Her journey into the pet industry began at the close of the Covid-19 pandemic when she noticed trend in pet adoptions during the pandemic and the accompanying need for family-style pet care post pandemic. Recognizing that people would return to their full-time routines, she launched Southlands Pet Resort to address this demand. Its success led to its evolution into Friendly Paws Clubs, with a location open in Kitsilano and another soon to debut in Mt. Pleasant. Harman’s ambitious vision includes opening private canine social clubs across Canada within the next five years.
Beyond these ventures, Harman's Friendly Paws Club plays an instrumental role in organizing large-scale pet industry events. These include PawsFest, the Pet Lover Show, the National Pet Day Sunday Market, Barktoberfest, the Howl-o-ween Pooch Party, and the Santa Paws Pawty & Christmas Market.Through her dedication and innovative ideas, Harman continues to make a profound impact on the pet industry while inspiring others with her passion and leadership.
