She chairs the Board of Directors and ensures our mission to foster a pet-friendly community is achieved while inspiring as many at-risk youth as possible.

Our Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Nelu Oncel, ensures that our financial resources are managed efficiently and transparently. As a Co-Founder, Nelu also plays a key role in guiding our growth and securing essential partnerships.

Jimmy Stewart

As our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Friendly Paws Society, Jimmy Stewart is responsible for leading the organization in its mission to foster a pet-friendly community. Jimmy oversees all aspects of the organization’s operations, strategic planning, fundraising, and community engagement efforts. Jimmy is a visionary leader with a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team of volunteers and staff.

Aeryal Mongovius

Head of Pawsitive Futures

Aeryal is entering her final year in the Undergraduate Program at the School of Social Work at UBC, where she has developed her knowledge and skills rooted in the values of social justice and a compassionate society through the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree program. Aeryal has a deep and unwavering passion for supporting at-risk youth, particularly those from her indigenous heritage. Her dedication to her work, combined with her university training, has made her an ideal candidate to lead our Pawsitive Futures Program. We are committed to supporting Aeryal in achieving her Masters and eventually her PhD at the UBC School of Social Work.

Nanette Jacques

Vice President of Sales & Board of Directors

Nanette Jacques is the Vice President of the Friendly Paws Society. With extensive experience in leading sales and marketing teams for both for profit and not for profit organizations, Nanette will lead our sales efforts, secure partnerships and provide strategic direction to ensure the financial stability of the organization. Her lifelong passion for animal welfare became the impetus for the Pet Lover Show, created to give pet parents the information they need to ensure their pets are healthy and happy. Growing this event into the largest pet show in western Canada, she will help us develop and enhance our Pawsfest pet festival series which will be a key fundraiser for the society.
